Party-Mouth: Lip Looks for New Year's Eve
An easy way to make a statement at the New Year's Eve Party is with a classic red lip but what about something a bit different to see out 2017? Here are four alternative statement lip looks* to inspire your smackers and stand out while you party the year away.
You can adjust the shade of berry to be more purple, red or brown with a berry lipstick of your choosing as the base. A lipstick underneath also makes the NYX Liquid Suede Mettalic Matte more comfortable to wear.
Make Up Forever Aqua Lip in "10c" (optional)
NYX Matte Lipstick in "30"
NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte in "Pure Society"
The Inglot Lip Pencils are chubby with tapered-tip crayons that let you line as well as fill in your lips. If you can't get your hands on Inlgot, use any matte hot pink lipstick as the base because it's actually the Barry M liner that packs that neon punch. Apply the Barry M liner to the centre of the lips and blend the edges into the base colour with a finger.
Inglot Lip Pencil in "28"
Barry M Lip Liner in "12 Fuschia"
First apply a nude colour lipstick for your skin tone in a creamy finish - kinda peachy for me. For the frosty topping, I have used a shimmer eyeshadow in a similar colour (use an eyeshadow or highlighter that you can pop in your handbag).
Pupa Easy Liner Lips in "003" (optional)
KIKO Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick in "104 Vintage Rose"
MUA Trio Eyeshadow in "Chocolate Box"- the peachy shade,
Dark & Glossy
This should be a sharp look so start with a lip liner before filling in with a dark colour. Then apply a similarly coloured gloss or clear lipgloss.
Illamasqua Medium Pencil in "Severe"
Sephora Cream Lip Stain in "43 Crimson Crush"
NARS Larger Than Life Lipgloss in "Rouge Tribal" or MAC Lipglass or both!
*This was my first time photographing makeup for the website. Please note that the lip looks are more effective in real life e.g. the neon more neon, the metallic more metallic. Hopefully I will improve with more practice!
